My Background / Bio

As a child never did my parents expected me to turn out to be an artist. I grew up later to be an artist kid and learnt a lot from multiple experiences. The following of Fine Art as a career is something that is frowned upon in India. This dream had many bumps on the way but I was constantly supported by my family.

I pursued different fields to try and have a stable job as society expects - did Psychology research, got an English Literature Bachelors, persuaded 3d animation for some years and pursued teaching. But, I always pursued my passion and never stopped painting. I gained my Master’s Degree in Fine Art from Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne (United Kingdom) in 2021. I do not plan to stop I am now aiming to gain a PhD in Fine Art and have started my journey towards the same.

I am working with multiple media to create my artworks. I majorly am a painter but also have been experimenting with installations and sculptures. In recent times I also have been experimenting with writing stories and poems, mixing my knowledge from English literature and Fine Art.

And this is only the beginning of my long journey…

My Inspiration

I have been to a great extent inspired by my mother Aruna. She is also an artist and has been practising art since her youth. She always followed her passion and never lost her love for art, she provides me with extreme support to find my own voice.

Many other great artists have also been very inspirational for me such as M.F. Hussain, Vincent Van Gogh, Bob Ross, Robert Gonsalves and many other amazing artists.

Apart from other artists, I am also inspired by my emotions/feelings, environment, nature, geographical locations and ancient mythology/folklore.
